RUBBER
REMAINS RATIONED
Tires Among
the Rationed Items
WASHINGTON,
D.C.—The Office of Price Administration reminds citizens that its Tire Ration Order
1A, implemented on December 30, 1941, is still in effect. The Rubber Bureau of
the War Production Board is the agency responsible for determining which types
of tires are rationed in what quantities. Citizens must apply for purchase of a
new tire by completing OPA Form R-1 at their local rationing board. If the
purchase is authorized, and if sufficient quota exists, a ration certificate
R-2B will be issued, which must be turned in at the tire dealer in order to
receive the new tire. Dealers are not allowed to sell tires to anyone lacking a
ration certificate.
