BEAUTY NEED NOT BE WAR CASUALTY
Shorter, Home-Care Nails Popular
CHICAGO—Ladies, has your favorite beauty operator heeded the call and become a war worker? Your fingernails can be saved from being a casualty of war with a home manicure. All you need is the proper equipment: an orange wood stick, Emery board, nail brush, polish, polish remover, and cotton. If you cannot maintain the polish, then go without. The long nails standard a few years ago have given way to a more graceful shorter nail. However, women war workers have quickly learned that the smarter nail is even shorter than the lady’s in the typing pool. Short, polishless nails have even become popular in Hollywood, in part thanks to being sported by actress Paulette Goddard.
