Rumor Reichstag to Meet Today
BERLIN, Germany—Speculation here is that Adolf Hitler will make a declaration of war against America sometime today. A spokesman insinuated there will be a change in the relation between Nazi Germany and America. Rumors swirl of the Reichstag assembling today; performances at the Kroll opera house where the Reichstag meets have been abruptly cancelled. Nazi-controlled German media has begun to focus on accusations that American leadership, as they claim, has been trying to justify entry into the European war. Last night Berlin radio stated, “America now faces a two-front war, a shooting war in the Atlantic and a rapid-fire war in the Pacific, and America is unprepared.” Meanwhile, an official from Tokio stated, “We have asked Germany to declare war on America.”
