RIDE-SHARING TO WIN THE WAR
Local Workers Step Up to Save Rubber
BLOOMING GROVE—All around Blooming Grove one can see our patriotic citizens heeding the calls of the Office of Price Administration (OPA) to share rides in an effort to conserve tires.  Since December 27 of last year, rubber rationing has been in effect. The supply of natural rubber is primarily the Far East, most of which has  been under Japanese occupation since early this year. Ride-sharing helps reduce the amount of rubber we consume. As one of the OPA posters that can be seen around Blooming Grove admonishes, “When you ride alone, you ride with Hitler.” Least you forget, Victory Bicycles are a great way to save both rubber and gasoline; some can be seen being pedaled around our grand prairie town.
