DISNEY ADVANCES ON BERLIN
Two Films To Be Produced in German
BURBANK, CALIF.—Walt Disney is perhaps closer to Berlin than the Allies. Disney announced on August 10 that he is working on synchronization of a German-language version of the new cartoon feature Saludos Amigos for future release in Germany. After that project is completed, he stated work will begin on the masterpiece Fantasia. As everything except for the introduction of that movie is musical, the translation will be much less involved. The film already features several musical passages from German composers, including Bach and Beethoven. The move by Disney puts him far ahead of the rest of Hollywood, although several studios began work on French-language versions of films even before the D-Day invasion.
