Re-capped Tires To Be Released
WASHINGTON, D.C.—The War Production Board (WPB) today issued an order limiting the production of razors, including razor blades, straight razors, and safety razors. The order is designed to allow one blade per week for those using razors. Projections are the limits will result in annual savings of one thousand tons of special high-carbon steel and five hundred fifty tons of low-carbon steel. The Office of Price Administration (OPA), meanwhile, yesterday announced a half million re-capped tires will be released for civilian use next month. The tires will be made available to certain drivers, including taxi drivers, war workers, and traveling salesmen. Additionally, one hundred thousand new tires will be released.
